Grounbreaking for new 9/11 monument at Veteran’s Park

From left: Doug Bayless of Vets Serving Vets, Middlesboro American Legion Post Commander Jim Davis, MPD Lt. Floyd Patterson, Middlesboro Fire Chief Robert England, VFW State Judge Advocate Jonathan Allen, City Council member Jade Robertson and Mayor Boon Bowling break ground for a new 9/11- War on Terror monument that is being added to the Veteran’s Park in front of Middlesboro City Hall. The ground-breaking was held on Veteran’s Day.
Father Isaac McKenzie from St. Mary’s Epsicopal Church gave an invocation, the MHS JROTC Color Guard presented the colors and the MHS band played the National Anthem.
MPD Officer Bucky Harris served as the host for the event.
