Ruby Ball Doan Dunn, 83

Ruby Ball Doan Dunn, 83, of Harrogate, TN passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville. She was born in Harlan County, KY on April 10, 1940, a daughter of the late A.D. and Cuba Sergent Shell. Ruby had worked at both Harlan ARH and Middlesboro ARH in many positions. She loved gardening and her hummingbirds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jesse Shell, Adrian Shell and Kenny Shell; sisters, Ruthie Smith, Desi Shell Mcleory, and Reva June Shell Langford; and brothers-in-law, Olan Whitehead and Willis Middleton.

Ruby is survived by her husband of twelve years, David Dunn, children and their spouses, Kathy and Jason Taylor, Donald and Jodi Ball, and Paul Ball and Rebecca Jones; special daughter, Rebecca Miller; grandchildren, DJ Ball, Christie (Brent) Bargo, and Cindy (Jason) Childers; great-grandchildren, Evan, Morgan, Katie, Kimberlynn Atlee, Trenton, Cheyanne and Savana; sisters, Viola (Vokie) Middleton, Hattie Whitehead and Billie Sue Shell and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be at Rest Haven Cemetery at Harlan with Rev. Shannon Harris. Music will be by Whitney and Cliffton Caldwell. Pallbearers will be Donnie Hutchinson, DJ Ball, Brent Bargo, Evan Bargo, Jason Childers and Trenton Childers.
