Ruth Whiteside- Fergerson, 97

Ruth Whiteside-Fergerson was 97 years young from Pineville, Kentucky. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 14, 2024.

Ruth was born on April 24, 1926, to parents, Walter and Cora Whiteside in Pineville, Kentucky. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Pineville, Kentucky. She believed and practiced in “it takes a village to raise a child” she was known as mom #2 and gran to many children.

She was preceded in death by her son, Franklin Curtis Fergerson, Jr.; her husband, Franklin Curtis Fergerson, Sr. and all her siblings and parents.

Ruth was the youngest child of ten siblings. She is survived by one daughter, Cindy (Joe) Philpot of Fairdale, Kentucky; one son Russell (Jodi) Fergerson of Lexington, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Jerome (April) Fergerson, Brooke C. Fergerson, Payge Fergerson, Dorian Fergerson, Devynn Fergerson, Aysia Hariston, D’Syaa Fergerson; three great-grandchildren, Deont’e Fergerson, Jaidan Fergerson, and Braxton Roark; with a host of great-great-grandchildren, cousins, and family friends.

The family will gather with friends on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at12 noon until 1:30 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with a Memorial Service at 1:30 PM.
