We are sad to announce the passing of DeJuana Michelle York of Bell County, Kentucky. She passed away at the age of 57 on Monday, March 11, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones after a battle with cancer. She was born in Louisville on November 16, 1966, a daughter of James “Tommy” and Pauline Evans Stewart. DeJuana worked at Henderson Settlement as a Work Camp Secretary. She attended Mill Creek Baptist Church and Hensley Chapel. DeJuana was loved dearly by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Stewart.

DeJuana is survived by her husband, Dewayne York; children, Clayton and Chelsea York, and Johnathon and Keishia Sizemore; grandchildren, Brylee York, Mason York, Abel York, Nathan Powers, Gavin Carter, Isabella Sizemore, Trinity Powers, and Sierra Sizemore; her father, Tommy Stewart; special friends and family, Jim and Sheila Hoskins, Duane Hoskins, Justin Daugherty, Samuel Daugherty, Keith Sexton, Kevin Sexton, Shane Mills, Alex Partin, Christopher Partin, Mathew Partin, Michael Bradley, and Michael Green; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Romans 14:8 “For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lords.”

Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Harve Ledford, Rev. Jeremy Sanders, and Deacon Derrick Goodin presiding. Music will be provided by Julie Goodin. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM on Thursday at the Hurst Cemetery on Page Cutoff. Pallbearers will be Gavin Carter, Nathan Powers, Mason York, Abel York, Jonathon Sizemore, Brandon Johnson, and Shawn Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be James Johnson, Jeff Daughtery, James Partin, Roy Cheek, Mitchell Evans, Glen Sexton, Mitchell Green, Clint Shoffner, Dustin Garner, James York, Caleb Partin, and Duane Jones.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the York Family. Light a candle of remembrance and sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
