Mary Louise Davis, 92

June 27, 2024

Mary Louise Davis, 92 of Calvin, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at home. She was born in Balkan on July 5, 1931, a daughter of the late Charlie and Bertha Green Parolari. Mary was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church and had been a bookkeeper and substitute teacher for the Bell County Board of Education.

Her family meant so much to her and she was so proud to tell everyone that her two grandsons had chosen to be a doctor and a dentist. Mary always let it be known that she loved her son-in-law as if he were her son. The two special girls who married her grandsons became her “granddaughters”.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Davis; and siblings, Helen Miller, Norma Harris, Dorothy Walters, Charles Parolari, and Jo Ann Goins.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Patty and Ricky Slusher of Pineville, and Brenda Davis of Calvin; grandsons, Joseph and Laura Slusher and Daniel and Tatum Slusher; sister, Betty Mantooth of Knoxville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday June 29, 2024, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Sanders presiding. Music will be provided by Laura Slusher along with Abby, Jay, Austin, and Autumn. Burial will follow at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearer will be Matt Dean.

The family would like to thank Dr. Combs-Woolum and staff, Amedysis Home Health, Bluegrass Hospice and Trudy Gibson for their kind and compassionate care.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Davis Family. Light a candle of remembrance and sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
