Kenneth Edward Wilson, age 87, of Middlesboro, KY, was called to be with the Lord on Monday, June 24, 2024, after a brief illness. He was born on June 8, 1937, and was the son of the late Clarence Ray “Shug” Wilson and Kelsie Yoakum Wilson.

Kenneth was a devout Christian and dedicated member of Hensley’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He took great pride in his long-time role as choir leader and Sunday school teacher. He was the owner of Kenneth Wilson Auto Parts, where he worked tirelessly as a small business owner and was a local sports sponsor for more than 58 years.

Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to a growing family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Alice Gail Yeary Wilson; his brothers, Bill Wilson and Bobby Wilson; and his sister, Norma Jean Stapleton.

Kenneth is survived by the family he loved so much: his children, Kelly (Michelle) Wilson, Chris (Kim) Wilson, and Mary (Tony) Mayes; his brother-in-law, Larry (Kathy) Yeary; sisters-in-law, Patsy Wilson, Lou-Edith Yeary, and Ruth Yeary; grandchildren, Kenneth Andrew (Danielle) Wilson, Mary Margaret (Kylor) Wilson, Zach (Bethany) Mayes, Amelia (Clay) Bisceglia, Michael (Rachel) Wilson, Jordan Wilson, Wil (Elizabeth) Mayes, and Tate Mayes; great-grandchildren, Walker Wilson, Ryleigh Beth Mayes, Alice Ann Wilson, Ezekiel Wilson, and Cole Mayes; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and church family whom he greatly loved.

The family of Kenneth Edward Wilson will receive friends on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hensley’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Sutton presiding.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., in the Mausoleum at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, KY. Pallbearers for the service will be Andrew Wilson, Kylor Wilson, Zach Mayes, Clay Bisceglia, Michael Wilson, Jordan Wilson, Wil Mayes, and Tate Mayes.

The Wilson family would like to send a special thank you to Kenneth’s long-time physician, Dr. Rogelio Uy, his Hensley’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church family, Pastor Mike Sutton, retired pastor and long-time friend, Murphy Buell, and the MHS Class of 1955.
