Charlie Jackson Jr., 67

July 12, 2024

Charlie Jackson Jr., age 67, loving Husband, Daddy, and Papaw, of Chenoa, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 3, 2024. He was born on January 24, 1957 in Pineville to the late Charlie Sr. and Ruby Jackson.

Charlie, affectionately known to everyone as “Junior”, was a coal truck driver for many years. During his time on the road, his CB handle was “Mad Jack”. Junior was also a talented and licensed electrician, and worked at the Bell County Forestry Camp where he served as a Correctional Officer, and later Food Service Manager. He then started his own business, CJ Metals.

In 2019, Junior accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and became a faithful, loving member of New Vine Missionary Baptist Church. When the Lord saved him, he said “I feel like I’m on top of the mountain and I hope I never have to come down”. It is of great comfort, peace and hope to know he is forever with the Lord.

Junior was married to the love of his life, Debra, for 46 wonderful years. They shared their life with their beautiful daughters, Lorinda and Misty. He became the world’s greatest Papaw to his “baby girl” Kiersten, and Jase, “Papaw’s little stud”.

In addition to his parents Charlie and Ruby, he was preceded in death by his daughter Misty Renee, brothers Michael Jackson and Perry Jackson, father-in-law JR Evans, and nephew Alan Jackson.

Left to cherish his memory, loving wife Debra Evans Jackson, daughter Lorinda (Rodney Gibson), grandchildren Kiersten Baker and Jase Gibson, brothers David (Brenda) Jackson and Phillip (Marie) Jackson, sisters Christine (Charles) Abner, Louise Caldwell, Macy (Russell) Manus, Theresa (Rodney) Miracle, and Sherry Evans, loving mother-in-law Hazel Evans, special friend and nephew who was always a helping hand, Frankie Jackson, special friend Todd Fuson, special friend and brother-in-law Rodney Miracle, as well as a host of many other special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to name, but all who will miss him so dearly.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt expression of gratitude and love to nieces Marcina Bailey, Brittany Fuson, and Melinda Partin for the wonderful care they provided for Junior during his sickness.

We have shared so many countless and wonderful memories with Junior over the years. Some of our most cherished are Sunday dinners at his mother-in-law Hazel’s after church – a time spent with the family he loved, and that loved him so much. He also enjoyed spending time at the lake fishing, riding the pontoon and camping. The most special and important time spent with Junior though was time spent with his grandbabies. It is these fond memories that fill our hearts full and will comfort and carry us on.

The family of Charlie “Junior” Jackson will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday , July 7, 2024 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2024 at New Vine Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jordan Graves and Rev. Wesley Miracle presiding. Music will be provided by the New Vine Church Choir.

Graveside Services to immediately follow at the Willis Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Gibson, Shane Abner, Charles Abner, John Maidon, Tyson Jones, Rickie Dixon, Todd Fuson, Keean Fuson, Frankie Jackson and Rodney Miracle.

Green Hills Funeral Home, Middlesboro, is honored to serve the Jackson Family.
