Middlesboro man charged with Attempted Murder
Quinlan Miracle Jr.
MIDDLESBORO, KY— On Saturday night January 25, 2025, Middlesboro Police began a search for an individual involved in an assault of a family member. This was after Officer Rossi had been dispatched to an Avondale residence over a 911 hang-up call around 8:40 pm.
As the officer arrived on the scene, two vehicles were leaving the residence, a black Chevy Cruze and a light blue Chevrolet pickup truck. The officer was able to see a woman with her face covered in blood inside the Cruze. A traffic stop was then made on the vehicle. During the stop, Rossi states that the woman began yelling for help and she was seen with several lacerations to her forehead, face, and nose. Her eye was swollen shut and she had a broken arm and finger.
The woman stated she and her cousin, 58-year-old Quinlan Miracle Jr., argued when he became enraged, grabbed a baseball bat, and beat her with it. She stated she was able to get away when Quinlan went into the kitchen, and she ran from the house to her car and left. Quinlan, in the light blue truck, fled the scene when the victim was pulled over.
Middlesboro EMS arrived at the traffic stop and prepared the victim to be flown from the area to UT Hospital immediately.
Middlesboro Officers investigated the Avondale address finding blood evidence in several areas, more of the victim’s bloody clothes, and the bat Miracle used in the attack. An additional call stated that the pickup truck was seen driving through a yard avoiding police presence in the area.
On Sunday the 26th, a social media post was made looking for Miracle. Later on Sunday around 3:00 pm Bell County Sheriff’s Deputies made contact with Miracle approximately 2 ½ miles down Highway 72 in the Hulen community where he tried to flee on foot, but was found a short time later.
Miracle was taken to Pineville Community Health Center emergency room by Bell County Sgt. Austin Poindexter after complaining of shortness of breath. Officer Rossi arrived at the hospital, read Miracle his rights, and transported him to Bell County Detention Center after examination.
Quinlan Miracle Jr. was charged with Attempted Murder.
A healthy Bell County requires great community news.
